(Tallahassee, June 8, 2009) Former Florida State Senator Bob McKnight (D., Miami) announced today the Golden Years Political Collection, a new web site, www.goldenyearspoliticalcollection.com, based on McKnight’s nationally acclaimed book, The Golden Years…The Florida Legislature, ‘70s and ‘80s*

The web site, features an interactive Blog, containing 10 posts about Florida Governor Charlie Crist, Former Governor Reubin Askew, Attorney General Bill McCollum, Bud Chiles, Former Governor Claude Kirk, and current State Senator J. D. Alexander, among many others. The web site also has a page called Quorum Call, a Florida political “Hall of Fame”, based on the book, featuring 10 legislators, lobbyists, and others from the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Among the issues addressed in the book, and featured on the web site, under the Debate tab, are the questions of the effectiveness of term limits and single member districts; and the demise of the “Pork Choppers.” Significantly, McKnight lists the 5 biggest challenges facing today’s legislators.
